Tempo Centar is a Serbian hypermarket chain, a part of Delhaize Group.
Tempo was founded in 2003, with headquarters located in Belgrade, Serbia. The first Tempo store, with 10,000 m2 of floor space, opened in Belgrade in 2004. Three more Tempo Cash and Carry stores were built in 2006: one in Niš (floor space 10,000 m2), one in Novi Sad (floor space 12,000 m2) and another one in Belgrade (floor space 18,000 m2). All three new stores opened in December 2006. The newest one is opened in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina, on the location of former Tropic shopping centre.
The first Tempo was opened on July 15, 2004. It occupies a floor space of 8000 m2 and it is situated in the very centre of Belgrade at Belgrade Harbour. After two years of successful work the end of 2006 was met by three newly built Temo centres.
Novi Sad Tempo was opened on December 1, 2006 at n.n. Tekelija street. This is the largest store in Vojvodina with floor space of 12.000 m2. The assortment offers as many as 40.000 consumer articles, and inside the centre there is a bank, a pharmacy, a playroom for children and other interesting contents. On Decembre 8, 2006, only a week after opening Tempo store in Novi Sad, a new Tempo store opened in Niš. At the very entrance of Niš, at 80 ,February 12 street, opened the biggest store in South Serbia with floor space of 10.000 m2. Offering 30000 cosumer articles, large parking lot,a bank and a coffee bar, consumers are offered a pleasant shopping. The great opening of the biggest store on the Balkans was organized on December 22 in Belgrade. Tempo centre at Block 53 Autoput I, industrial zone of New Belgarde, occupies an area of 18000 square meters and was finished in only 93 days. An offer of 50 000 consumer articles as well as many actions of discount goods guarantee the lowest prices. In front of the store there is a large parking lot for 700 vehicles and inside the building there is a bank, a coffee bar and a playroom for children.Tempo centres are of recognizable visual identity. The characterized outlook of the store is done by positioning the goods after the world standards, promo-islands with discount goods as well as hanging signs that ease one's way in the store.
The area of Tempo centres is from 8000 to 18.000 square meters and they are equipped with functional units for keeping and showing goods. Each centre has a big parking lot from 350 to 700 vehicles.
The selection of goods that Tempo offers, from 8.000 to 50.000 items, is very versatile. This means that one can buy in a Tempo store all well known domestic and foreign goods, from complete food to great offer of non-food items.
Tempo pays exceptional attention to its consumers. This is the only store with developed department for consumer relations, which enables all the interested to ask questions, make suggestions, criticize and give their impressions of overall business operation.
Every month, at special discount actions, there are about a hundred products of all product groups. Parallel to regular discounts, Tempo often offers additional discounts,mainly of best selling goods. All discounts are always adapted to seasonal needs of consumers. The goods can be paid in cash or by cards: Mastercard, Visa, Dina, Yuba, Diners.
Tempo stores are open 24 hours a day, including Sundays. They close only on public holidays like New Year's Day or Serbian Orthodox Christmas (January 7).
